Denim Tea Party

What? Two posts in two days? I know this is a miracle. So I am on a mission, to post more often...!

Blue Jeans white Tshirt, not Lana Del Rey song haha. Alice in Wonderland inspired look with a modern twist! Some people might know that I am beyond obsessed with Alice. I have no idea why but probably because Lewis Carroll, the author is just as disturbed as I am.

I am using a collection of pictures taken weeks ago but I insist that this still count as a new post. Heehee

I feel like blogging regularly is a good thing, it has to be habitual is it not? Therefore I am challenging myself to post constantly. It does not mean that I will post daily but hey, at least once a week.

So I bought two items on impulse by the end of the month of June: the jeans dungarees/pinafore and that white hidden wedge sneakers. It was on impulse, but for me it was not something that is regrettable, for one I feel that jeans dungarees are classic and two hidden wedge sneakers are cute! At first I thought these sneakers are a bit juvenile but then I saw a lady, nearly the age of 40 I presumed, and she was wearing a pair of GOLD hidden wedge sneakers! Afterwards I was like: heck let's try it on. Then they spoke to me, persuade me to take them home, so I did.

Featuring in this look is the lovely tea party collar.

Galleries Lafayette in Jakarta

Galleries Lafayette. Very well established in France, not very well known in Indonesia. Well, therefore I am here to write a little something something about it. So I was summoned to help weeks before the opening, with the brands that my boss handle: MaxMara Weekend, Penny Black, iBlues, and DKNY.

These are some pictures taken before the opening (haha), I do not think that exposing these are appropriate because some might think that these harm the name of the brands? However I find these images really interesting and I do hope whoever reading this feels the same.

These two naked mannequins with their poses made me laugh. I posted this more than two months ago in my instagram, I think? Sorry I have to waited this long to write about it.

Some wrapped-up fun (to prevent them from collecting dust).

Cute props above from MaxMara Weekend.

What I carried with me.

Moving on, if you do visit GL (Galleries Lafayette) you will see these boards, like below but with different brands written on it. Of all these brands below, my favorite brand with their goods is Ted Baker (please don't kill me boss).

Below are some pictures I took of Ted Baker products, I mean how come anyone not Love it?

Other than Ted Baker I would like to specially mention about Brooks Brothers (pictures below):
I love their visual props! You know me, I love vintage stuff hence maybe I am a little bias regarding taste visual props.

I do not know whether it is ok to disclose this but I find it really strange that Michael Kors is very well ranked in this dept store. Probably because the brand was already quite known amongst the Indonesian community?

Nobody knows, but I think there are other brands that people should give chances too, and I am not saying these things because I am working under other brands ok? Maybe partly but no, not really. I just think that people should explore more brands so that more foreign (or local) brands can flourish and grow.

Dear all readers, I hope that you find this post enjoyable. I will see you at the next post, orrr stalk me at instagram because I post regularly ;)

Curious Traveller

So weeks ago I posted in my instagram that a "new blog post is coming soon", and these pictures totally slipped my mind I am sorry. Here I tried editing with soft focus and brightness, which I kinda like in the end.

Trust me it was really sunny that day I took these pictures and therefore I thought "Hey, it is finally time for the lace parasol I bought to be featured!"

Apart from the cute lace parasol, I also featured the big-ass vintage leather backpack I bought quite some time ago. Aaand, I did a victory roll on my hair but it is hardly noticeable with my black hair.

I think that I can fit a petite person in that backpack.

Guys, truth about lace parasol: they do not help much during sunny day, especially like our kind of sunny days in the vicious heat of Jakarta. However they are really really cute and I would still advice anyone out there to purchase it, just because.

About the backpack, I find it very useful. Personally I would recommend anyone to have a huge backpack in store to stuff it with emergency stuff including clothing, medicine and dry foods. This is just in case you need to bolt immediately during unexpected occasions. What unexpected occasions? Let's say zombie apocalypse maybe, or anything that is more realistic like flood evacuation or earthquake (yess I like doomsday prepper).

I sincerely hope that this post is enjoyable, any comments and suggestions about photo-taking and editing is welcome.

About Hachi

Hi Everyone!

Today I would like to introduce y'all to by beloved dog, named Hachi. His name is not exactly inspired by the famous dog Hachiko, I think. My little brother named him Hachi because: Hachi's grandma's name is Yuki, and Hachi's mom's name is Mochi and thus "Hachi" sort of rhymes with it. And I think most of people know that Hachi means 8 in Japanese, although it kind of means sneezing in Indonesian.

Hachi here is a Bichon Frise.

He is a very cheerful, lazy dog.

This is Hachi with a cute suit! And the suit is red of course because it was Chinese New Year when he wore this.

Adidog is what was written on that jersey ;)

So this is me taking him to a dog gathering in Central Park, NOT the one in New York.

He was certainly glad to explore.

But, because he is a lazy dog it wasn't long till he grew tired and started lying down that way. That is my friend Lisa with her lovely puppy named Milo ( Milo is a mix breed of Mini Pincer and Cihuahua).

Hachi is probably the best fluffy thing that has ever been mine :)

I was wearing a custom made vintage reproduction dress from hellopupu.com

You should totally check hellopupu out because she (the owner) is really nice and she has amazing collections of vintage reproduction dresses ;)

Cheers everyone and see you till the next post!

A Day at Work

Dear All,

Welcome to my new blog post after quite a while. This post will take you along with me at work ;)

Before that I will tell you that I have been now for more than 6 months working for PT MAP. MAP is a retail company that imported loads of fashion brands, food, and other products to Indonesia. Some brands that you may be familiar of are probably: ZARA (Inditex group), MaxMara, DKNY, Topshop. As for food, MAP did brought in Starbucks, Burger King (praise be Lord), and many others.

My profession is Visual Merchandiser for 'Forever New'. This brand is originated from where Koalas are, Australia. In Jakarta, Indonesia, Forever New stores are located at Kota Kasablanka and Kemang Village.

So here are some snaps that I have been accumulated while I was at work:
As a Visual Merchandiser, I am required to arrange Window Display, Floor layout as well as other 3-dimensional displays to maximise sales.

It is quite fun really! I get to dress the mannequins and style their hair... This is not standard Forever New hairstyle, but it suits this girl for that time, so I guess it is fine.

Floor layout and wall display here. I have to ensure they have the balance in colors and weight (cannot be too heavy at one side or too dark).

Me dressing up the Torso, blurry but I really like it.

Me having fun with reflections and stuff.

There are many great things that I came to learn while being a VM. It is so much fun and tiring at the same time. There are some perks too, like trying out items that are not out yet, also I get employee discount 25% off for most of MAP products.

Cheers everyone!

Porter House Weekend

Hi everyone, how are you all doing?
It seems that I have adjusted well with my work schedule because now I am willing to go out during weekend rather than convincing myself that I need to rest whenever possible, by being a potato couch. So, this is a place where loads of people go to in PIK, a restaurant called Porter House. Great food really, I tried the carbonara, satisfying!

With my vintage craze, I am over the moon when I found this authentic home vintage. This pouch- satchel used to belong to my mom but she cannot recall which year it was from. I am guessing around late 70s. The smell of old leather is... weirdly entertaining for me, because it reminded me of my London visit.

My babes that I adore, floral Dr. Martens.

Say Hi to my dear friend Cherry, she has a cool blog check it out: weirdandwicked.blogspot.com

Too Formal for Casual

Hi everyone. I may have failed to mention on my last post about the late posts for these last 3 months, it is because of my new job, I started as a visual merchandiser since October, hence I need to adjust the habit to snap pictures for blogging more often.

So, it has been a funny situation here in Jakarta. Flooding started 2 days ago, because of all the raining. My neighborhood is not so lucky too, but at least the water did not enter my house. These pictures were taken last week, when there was still more sunshine. I have to thank my very good friend Yonni for these pictures.

I have always wanted to try this hairstyle called waterfall braid. It is unfortunate that my hair is now black therefore you cannot really see the braiding.
