PI Fashion Week SS16

It has been a week since Plaza Indonesia Fashion week has passed. I am currently in Bandung and want nothing more than going to bed at this instant. However I am a strong believer of better late than never! Let me take you back to a week ago, where I went to brunch with my friends before attending the fashion week show!

My friend William Utama did a super great job in Asia Newgen Fashion Award! There were ten finalists in the final round and he won! With another contestant thats also named Will. What a delightful coincidence. I attached photos of my favorite looks from the show after my outfit post (which followed by the designer's name)!

Barefeet in Bali

Spent last weekend in Bali attended a wedding of my mother's relative. The heatwave was harsh, perhaps due to the hot air coming from Australia, but Bali is charming nevertheless.

We chased a sunset at Kuta beach, and I have to constantly watch out for the lighting as I ought to take photos of my aunt and mum as well haha. Wearing this breezy playsuit piece from Shakuhachi, I truly enjoyed my sunset hunt.

 And the sunset was glorious.

Farewell London

There are no words enough to express my gratitude towards what I feel about London and how it has changed me. I found my passion, friends and true joy here.

I grew and I learnt. There have been too many things to list that are the highlights of my stay here, ranging from helicopter ride overseeing the city to walking the red carpets to drinking bubble tea in ChinaTown, but most importantly, meeting up with my dear friends that are too many to list. If you are reading this I am sending you massive hugs and kisses.

As I am writing this I am waiting to board my plane back to Indonesia. It is difficult to part but I want to believe that there will be more things in store for me back home. I did not intend to get so attached to England and the people but I did, my mistake (joking I love you all). I do not know when I can return so I guess we have to try this long distance relationship thing a go, London.

Do not change London. I love you.

Special mentions to (in no particular order):
Conor, Ina, Mervin, Martina, Lucy, Zee, Julian

Tips From The Travelling Vintage Girl

As a keen traveller and a vintage girl that wears vintage and retro dresses 90% of the time, I have gotten used to the on-the-go approach in travels without sacrificing too much of my regime!

Yes you still can look fabulous when you travel, and yes it is possible to jet set to different countries with hand luggage!  And I am going to tell you the insights on how I did it. This post was also in Unique Vintage blog section go check them out!

Me in Amsterdam

Clothes

I usually started with arranging my outfit (roughly) for the following days. Try to accommodate two looks with one key piece so you do not need to bring unnecessary extras.

Make-up Better be On-Point

Here are the list of things in the order of importance:
1. Sunscreen and base- May be included with the foundation you own (SPF). Also ensure you use long-lasting foundation as you might be out all day. With good coverage and flawless skin you can actually get away with less makeup
2. Eye Liner- Befriend them, as they are mates for vintage ladies, pulling off that cat-eye should be a crucial key thing for your retro look. Please get a long lasting liner too, we do not want your liner to change from on-point to smudgy by the end of the day.
3. Red Lips- I recommend investing in a good lip liner for that red pout! And carry your favourite lipstick for touch-ups!
4. Blusher- Cream blushers are more portable than the powder ones, and you don’t need any brush for application, neat.

Hair

Bring plenty of bobby pins in case you want to refresh your pincurls, or emergency victory rolls as you travel! I recommend packing your favourite smoothing brush too so you can maintain your beautiful mane!

Other than that I strongly encourage you to bring either a bandana for the classic ‘Rosie the Riveter’ look, or pack a flower hair clip to finish your vintage hair.

Footwear

Never bring your shoes that you have never worn before, you wanna look cute I know. But do not sacrifice your holiday. Get a nice kitten heels to compensate. If you do want to look hella cute in those killer shoes you can, pack a folding flat shoes, it should work!

Skincare

Soooo important for me! And I figured it should be for most of you ladies too. It is much of a hassle if you want to bring all of your stuff in a carry on but you still can pack your cleansing liquid! Place them in cheap contact lens pod from dollar store and voila you are good to go.

HAVE FUN

This should be the whole point for travelling, for me at least. So have fun and enjoy the little things, take it in, and do not forget to take pictures.

Cheers lovelies!

My LBD Has Polkadots All Over It

That's right I found my LBD. With polkadots all over. Dreams are made of this. Okay I gotta stop my rambling but I just really like this dress okay?

A flattering dress with really nice volume on the skirt? Totes yes! Thank you Unique Vintage for sending it over :)

Recap: This week has been great, I visited World Travel Market, met new amazing friends, in additional to already amazing friends that I already had (I know life is good). I also started managing RT Holidays social media, visit them and show some love please!

Oh I almost forgot, I had the chance to explore Millenium Mills in a photomeet hosted by Canon UK and Holly, it was quite amusing as some of my friends there have never seen me in jeans and tshirt but I did as for the occasion!

The Versailles!

How early would you wake up to take pictures??

Merv and I got up early to beat the queue in Paris for the Hall of Mirrors in Chateau Versailles.
It was worth it. We were the first to enter that day, rushed to this hall, and took loads of photos.

I went to Amsterdam afterwards for WorldWide Instameet, sadly I did not really archived my outfit of the days but I promise you I had the best of fun!

Ahoy Paris

Hello lovelies!

I have now commence my post-dissertation travel! Overjoyed of course. To top it of, one of my absolute favorite retro clothing brand Unique Vintage approached me and asked me to join the style society! Which I gladly accept! Check out their retro dresses and vintage clothing as they are so beautiful and well designed. When I receive the dresses I am glad to find that the fit is great on me, bear in mind I am quite fussy with sizing and fit.

So please find the followings as the travel photos of me in Paris featuring the lovely nautical themed dress from UV! Also visited Fondation Louis Vuitton whilst I am in Paris and I have to say it is one of the best architectural phenomenon. Such brilliant design, admirable.
